Dear Friends:

The purpose of this letter is to briefly introduce myself as the new President of Long Pond Association. I’m 43, married, currently I am a stay at home mom with 4 children. My husband & I along with our children live year round on the pond and my children attend the local school district here.

Before, I decided to be a stay at home mom I was a Banker for 16 years. My husband retired from the Military and we moved back home to raise our family, that is when I decided to stay home. My children are very active with extra curricular activities in the community.

Being born and raised in Maine & New Hampshire area I am passionate about our Lakes, Rivers & Ponds. Alan Wing & I attended the Maine Milfoil Summit in Augusta earlier this year. It was very informative, the high point in the meeting was when Senator Tom Saviello of Franklin County spoke. Unfortunately, the funding for our Lakes, Rivers & Ponds is last on the list for any financial aid support. So the CBI (Courtesy Boat Inspection) is needed more then ever to keep our beautiful Long Pond clear of any invasive plants.

On a positive note, Parsonsfield has a Deputy Sherriff Darren Cyr which has mentioned to several of us that he will be paroling Long Pond this summer. He will be enforcing the no parking signs by the boat launch and any other law breaking activity.

I want to take this moment to give a big “Thank You” to Cindy Fahey for all her hard work she did while President of LPA. She still will be very active with the CBI program and any other challenges that may come her way.

I look forward to meeting you this coming summer.

Sincerely,

Katrina Nance
