Courtesy Boat Inspection update 2014

Post date: Jul 5, 2014 2:53:35 AM

Dear Fellow Long Pond Residents,

We hope you all had a great Memorial Day Weekend. The 2014 Courtesy Boat Inspection Program is up and running as of this past weekend. We received a $1600 grant from the state and thanks to the Boys’ Camp agreement with the town for the lease of the boat ramp, we once again will receive $2000 from the town. A big thank you to all who have supported this program since its inception in 2010. This is our 5th summer.

Once again, we are asking for a donation of $40.00 total ---$35.00 to run the CBI program plus $5.00 to go to the Long Pond Association.

Please make your check for $40.00 total to Long Pond Association/CBI program and mail it to:

Eleanor Watson

95 East Shore Drive

Parsonsfield, ME 04047

You can also pay at the 10:00 a.m. July 5th Long Pond Association meeting at the Boys’ Camp.

357 boats were inspected in 2013. We have 3 returning inspectors and have hired 5 more. A change this year is we will be covering Friday mornings (once school is out) and covering Friday late afternoon starting now. Another change is we have hired Jacob Hart to help Eleanor, Judy, and me oversee the CBI’s. This is Jacob’s 3rd year with us, and he is presently a college sophomore. He helped interview, train, and now will help oversee our high school CBI’s. His shift is from 10:30 to 2:30 on Sundays so you might want to say hello if you see him.

A big thank you to all who helped last year and especially to Judy Ingram and Norm LaJeunesse who helped with the overseeing last summer.
